Details:

L1A1 SLR ** SN. 262 L1A1 SLR ** SN. 262 British L1A1 7.62mm Self Loading Rifle, good condition with wooden furniture and no moving parts. These rifles, in all their various versions, were the second most widely adopted assault rifle on earth. Only the AK47 has seen wider service. They were called 'the right hand of the free world' and have been used all over the globe. They are all basically the same and the differences tend to be in styles of furniture, barrel length and flash hiders etc, but they are all the same basic excellent design and they are still the main issue weapon of over 20 countries.

Got this today. The packaging was something else and took quite a while to get through. At first i thought EVERYTHING eas deactivated. The handle wouldnt move, the magazine wouldnt come out but after a while, some oil and a bit of leverage i got it all to work, even the break works now, that breaking the frame to get to where the metal bits would have been inside, so all in all its on par with the G3 and im pretty happy. Its actually from India which is a bit annoying as I thought it was British (which it says in the description!!) but I can live with that too, I guess

The only other little thing to add here is that I first saw this on sale at D & B over a week ago and they had 8 I think and one of them was £195 and I actually put it in the shopping cart but then I thought nah, i'll leave that, see how long they stay there and it was there for a few days and then it went, so I was a bit annoyed at that and then they all started going really quick, and then there were only 4 left, two at £225 and 2 at £250. As of writing there are still 3 left, I got mine 2 days ago. I figured they really would go quick. I think £195 for an L1A1 is pretty good (it had carry handle missing) and even £225 is ok, cheapest elsewhere is £295 at Drop Something or another and most places they are at least £395 which I always found odd because we are British and its a British gun and they dont use them anymore so why are they so rare? and so expensive?
