or maybe he has his pockets full of cake or jelly so he cant fit a big gun in there as well, or the others may be covering him while he does the greggs pasty run eg small gun = carrys more food.

Y in a pocket would get covered in lint. There are better things to transport jelly. I'm sure he could of used a discarded helmet??? The blokes quite obviously stupid!
