New Spec
NOTE: THE PHOTOS ARE A BIT RUSHED AS IM REALLY BUSY - LATER I'LL REDO THE OUT OF FOCUS SHOTS (honest). lol.
The Kommando LDP submachine gun came about because arms embargos imposed on South Africa and more specifically, Rhodesia during the 1960’s. At this time Rhodesian forces were equipped with Czech Vz-25 SMG’s and the Rhodesian manufactured LDP has definite similarities with this weapon. There are also similarities with the UZI and indeed the LDP is also known as the RHUZI (RHodesian UZI). This example is good order and comes complete with one magazine and 5 inert 9mm rounds. Current specification deactivation with few moving parts.
This is a bit like my CZ26. brought it because they are a bit rare and it was on sale. Its really new spec, no fun there t all. You'll note from some of the photos that some welding has been done near to the fire selector? Maybe thats why it was cheap? But either way I think that has something to do with the fact that the tip tube wont come away from the base. I tried removing the from screw which you'll see in one of the photos but that didnt really help much. Not wanting to damage it I didnt try too hard. The back screw thing unscrews easily and there is not locking feature such as the CZ-26 has.
The trigger is a bit like the green one I have from the same country whose name I forget, oops, the COBRA!! and it does look a bit home made in some respects. But the plastic housing is a step up from both the Cobra and CZ. Maybe they had just got in some plast mould machinery or were experimenting with gravity plastic moulding.
The safety works like a trigger and you can jump around killing people by firing the safety which is below the trigger. The trigger is welded solid.
The stock is nice but its a bit hard to unlock it from one to the other which I would imagine would be a hassle in combat.
